The Farm
Bringing young pigs in!!
Nature Pork brings the little weaner pigs from the weaner barn in to our finishing barn.
The pigs stay here about 4-5 months so we have almost 3 rounds a year.
We have continues flow so the barn is hardly ever empty.
We have different sections in the barn so when one part is empty we can clean and pressure wash it and disinfect that area before the new pigs come in.
The same truck is also coming to pick up the pigs that are finished.
The weight from the finished pig is at this moment between 120-125 kg.

The pig-operation has grown.
Since October 2013 we are renting 2 weaner barns in our neighbourhood.
A part of these weaner pigs are coming to our barn the others go to someone else their finishing barn. The weaner barns have approximately 6 rounds in a year.
The piglets come in at around 5-6 kg and go when they are approx. 25-30 kg. Most time they are 6 weeks in this barn.

Hay the fields
In spring we keep the horses as long as possible in one of the pastures so we can let the grass grow in the other ones for hay. When the weather is right and the grass is long enough we cut the grass and let it dry so we have hay for the winter.
While drying we turn it and after that rake it so we can bail it into small square bails. These goes on the attic in the horse barn.
